Dubai air show
Launched in 1989, when the city was still an unprepossessing Arabian port with global ambitions, the biennial Dubai air show has become the biggest event of its kind in the Middle East and one of the world’s top four aerospace events. Over the years, the show has seen spectacular orders, although it is doubtful that the 2017 event will see the sales bonanza witnessed in 2013 when Boeing launched the 777X on the back of a major Emirates commitment, and Qatar Airways and Etihad both placed huge airliner orders. With lucrative procurement budgets and a healthy appetite for private aviation throughout the region, the Dubai air show is also a significant platform for defence and business aviation manufacturers. FlightGlobal will be publishing three issues of Flight Daily News live at the show and this dedicated show page will bring you breaking news, pictures and analysis from the event.
